Nostalgic Makar Shankranti

Makar Shankranti makes me nostalgic and emotional...reminds me of my late mother who would call all son's invariably on 14th Jan, each year, just to ask if we would give her 'bo'. A simple sentence would fall on our ears-"Tila Tila Bo Debe" and we parroted "Debo" meaning yes. Once when I asked the meaning of this ritual she told me, it was assurance to give her shoulder on death. This magic words worked for her and we three brothers were at her side when she died. Just an example of how meaningful can these rituals be to one who is a believer. At least it would give her peace till next year to come and finally upto deathbed.
